After marble and granite, we moved a bit further north where schist (a kind of shale-like rock) predominates and was used to build absolutely charming structures in various villages. Here are highlights from some of the schist villages in the Lousa region.
We spent our last night outside Lisbon in the Hotel Melio Palacio da Lousa - a former palace.
